Painter Itsuki Kaito was born in Sapporo in Hokkaido in 1993. She enrolled in the Masters program at the Kyoto City University of Arts after graduating from the Tohoku University of Art and Design. Currently, she creates works based on such motifs as a man tying himself up with plastic belts and an imaginary myth of a giant Amazon-like goddess of destruction, based on her interest in the type of nationalism that conceals immorality and shame.
